At a panisse stall at the Cucuron market

Panisse is a staple of Provençal cuisine. Made from chickpea flour, it's often served fried with various sauces. It's a specialty of the L'Estaque district in Marseille. Here, we see the preparation stage after the initial mass has been drained.

A stall at the Cucuron market next to the Portail de l'Étang

This gate is all that remains of the 16th-century fortified enclosure. Originally, there were four gates and six towers within a 600-meter stretch of walls. This gate had other names before: Porte de la Burlière and Portail de Cabrières.

The Cucuron market around the pond

The basin formed a reservoir collecting water from several springs in the Luberon mountains north of the village. Similar installations have existed since 1403 to supply grain mills. The current layout with the plane trees dates back to 1813.
